Feeling the heat at Rockingham

Posted on 26th June, 2018

Not only was Sunday the hottest day of the year so far it was the hardest of the season so far. Starting Race 1 in P3 after having a lap time fast enough for pole position removed due to a track limits infringement in qualifying. The number 44 machine of Pete Milne set the fastest lap of the race and began to catch the cars squabbling for P1 & 2, setting up a tantalizing 2nd half of the race. Unfortunately #44  was pitched into an un-recoverable spin after falling off the edge of the exit curb of the fast Gracelands bend. The car suffered heavy damage after impact with the tyre wall and was unable to continue with the meeting.

Technical Director Luke Wales comments "We have the reputation in the paddock of being able to repair significant levels of damage between races, however due to the heavy impact with the tyre wall and the speeds around the banked part of the circuit it would not have been safe to continue in Race 2"

The team are now focusing on maximising points at Castle Combe on the 14th of July. This is the first race for Production GTI on the TCR UK package and MLP Developments first 3-car entry of the season.
